Zhuravlev - one of the greatest masters of genre painting of the second half of the XIX century in Russia. For his work is characterized by narrative, a deliberate exaggeration, pointed, often caricatures, the limited range of colors. Socio-accusatory thrust of the work was close to the Wanderers.
