November 26 at Christie's auction held on the works of Russian painting and graphics

«Russian Week» in London continues. Yesterday ended auction auction house Christie's, which were presented works of Russian painting and graphics. Of the 199 offered lots were sold to 117 the total amount of 7.93 million pounds (12.16 million dollars). Thus, his buyers found 59 percent exhibited works.

As expected, the most expensive piece of painting was the Natalia Goncharova «Still life with watermelons». Its price was slightly above the lower limit of estimeyta (1,5-2 million) and amounted to 1.553 billion pounds.

A similar situation is observed in the second list of top lots: work Alexei Kharlamov «A bouquet» was sold for 713 thousand pounds in the estimeyte in the 700-900 thousand.

A pleasant surprise for the organizers presented the picture Abram Arkhipov «Peasant in red shawls». Commenting on the outcome of the auction ending, Sarah Mansfield, head of London's Russian art department of Christie's, said: «The work of high quality, as well as works that have only recently appeared on the market, have caused extensive interest from collectors around the world and achieved good results. We are pleased to announce that the canvas Abram Arkhipov «Peasant in red shawls», spent under the hammer for 553,250 pounds, set a new price record for a work of this artist, three times higher than its estimeyt.
