a Group of artists@the semicolon was formed in early 1924. It included young artists — students of VKhUTEMAS. In may 1924, the members of the group participated in 1-й discussion exhibition associations active revolutionary art, which introduced genre compositions on modern themes, sketches, icons and signs, constructivist installation. In the exhibition catalogue was published their policy statement: "I. Concrete — a thing in itself. II. Concreteness — amount of experience. III. Concreteness — form. Background things: 1. Modernity. 2. The clarity of the task. 3. Precision machining".
Ideas and forms of their implementation approached concreteview with the constructivists and projectionists. In his work the group has developed a conditionally-плакатный style based on a combination of specificity in the image details and abstract interpretations of space.
At the beginning of 1925, the members of the group with the "group of three" (A. A. Deineka, Y. I. Pimenov, Goncharov) and projectionists ("Method", A. A. Labas, S. A. Luchishkin, S. B. Nikritin, K. N. Red'ko, A. G. Tyshler) established the Society of easel painters (OST).
