spent my Youth in Mariupol, where he graduated from high school and received his primary art education under the guidance of В. П. Тарасова. In 1914 he graduated from the Elisavetgrad cavalry school; was mobilized in the Lithuanian Uhlan regiment. Participant of the First world war; was awarded the George cross. In 1917 was elected commander of the squadron. In early 1918, was discharged. For some time he lived in Simbirsk, then fought on the fronts of the Civil war on the side А. В. Колчака in the Urals and in Siberia.

In 1920 he settled in Harbin. Engaged in manufacturing of icons and painted boxes. At the same time continued education in the Studio "the Lotus" М. А. Кичигина and А. Бернардацци. In 1923-1925 he worked a cavalry instructor at Marshall Zhang Jolina in Mukden. Was married Л. В. Блонской the daughter of the former assistant to the military attaché.

In 1925 he came to the U.S. and settled in San-Франциско. He studied at the California art school Г. Пьезони, Р. Стакпола Lee Cedarville. In 1929 went to Mexico, where he entered the Studio Д. Риверы. Until 1931 he worked under his leadership on the frescoes for the building of the Ministry of health, National and Governor's palaces in Mexico city. Back in the US, has executed murals for the clinic in Palo Alto (1932), a Memorial tower in memory of firefighter — heroes of the 1906 earthquake года (1934-1938) and the school. J.
