Bernard De Lay for many years been involved in major international fairs in Paris, Monaco, Moscow, Shanghai and, of course, in Brussels. In 2006, he became a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in France. He will continue what began as a vice-president BRAFA, his goal - to make the fair even better and more selective. He also looks forward to interaction and mutual understanding between the Belgian museums and galleries to make BRAFA this showcase of the arts and cultural heritage.

develop this theme, this year's Fair will provide its visitors a unique opportunity to see nine masterpieces of the artists of the early twentieth century from the collections of museums of the city of Liege: Chagall, Picasso, Kokoschka, Marc, Pascin, Lieberman, Gauguin, Ensor, Lawrence. Works by these artists, as well as other modernists of the twentieth century, has been identified by the Nazi government to "degenerative art", but their works have been mass destruction. As a result of "cleaning up" on the orders of the Government of the museums were confiscated more than 5 000 works of art. In order to show defectiveness and failure of modernist art, July 19, 1937 in Munich, organized an exhibition called "Degenerate Art", which was shown more than 650 works. At the same time in a nearby building was an exhibition of "correct" German art. As a result of attendance "degenerate art" was in 3,5 times more. Thousands of works were destroyed, others are sold as, for example, 125 jobs that were shipped to Switzerland and presented at the auction gallery Fischer in Lucerne in 1939. Among the bidders, a delegation of the city of Liege, which had a budget for the purchase of works. The amount of 35 percent consisted of grants the city, 30 percent - the state subsidy and the remaining 35 percent were granted benefactors. It was finally acquired 9 works that are and will be presented in Brussels.

As antique dealers play an important role in preserving cultural heritage, the main event, what is their BRAFA, can not remain indifferent the problems of environmental conservation. Particular attention will be given to select material - they should be clean and can say 100 per cent fit for reuse. This "green" point is also evident in the design of the whole space fairs, which the Company has issued Volume Architecture in "plant" theme.

The fair officially runs under the high patronage of Her Majesty the Queen of Belgium - is the recognition high status and the exceptional quality of this event.
