Nude - not just a genre of painting, but also a symbol of world art. Nudity - the phenomenon of natural beauty and unity of man as a creation of nature and the universe. Nude creates a complex range of feelings, personifying the unexplained laws of the universe: the beauty - creative source that creates harmony.
Throughout history, mankind's greatest artists of all ages have glorified the beauty of the naked body, using for this purpose all kinds of Graphic Arts. Of course, Russia, as part of world culture spawned a galaxy of outstanding artists working in the genre of the nude. Best Russian museums are decorated with works K. Bryullov , A. Ivanov , A. Venetsianov , G. Semiradsky , Makovsky and other masters of the XIX century.
But the greatest interest in this regard is the twentieth century, which became a turning point not only in the history of Russia, but also in her artistic life. All of the major artistic currents of the West (post-impressionism, symbolism, abstraction, cubism, etc.) embodied in the works of Russian masters of the past century, existing in parallel with the official Soviet painting, laying the foundation of modern art school.
At the beginning of the century, along with academic and salon painters, continuing the traditions of Russian school of the XIX century artists began to appear innovative, who studied painting in France and Italy and to seek new forms, including in the genre of nude. Later, in the 1970's and 80's, when the ideological pressure on the art of weakening, the artists begin to express their selves through creativity.
