In the Russian Museum is the exhibition dedicated to the memory of the participants and victims of the First world war of 1914-1918. Contemporaries, recently celebrated the centenary of the war of 1812, called the outbreak of the great world war and the Second world. Hundreds of Russian artists, art historians and Museum workers took part in the battles; and those who never went to the front — draftsmen, painters and sculptors were involved in a struggle with the enemy by means of fine art. They participated in the Military art of detachment and two Trophy commissions made paintings and posters designed to raise the morale of the compatriots depicted battles and their heroes, drew caricatures for Jurnalul@
