Five cars of a special train "Watercolor", plying on the Arbat-Покровской subway lines, six months turned into the exposition area of Russian art from the collection of the Tretyakov gallery. In the train are 35 reproductions of watercolors by famous Russian artists, famous also for his graphic works.
Watercolor — one of the most complicated graphic techniques. Almost without alterations and changes, it requires the artist's fidelity hands and eyes, masterly possession of color and form. The secret of the special fine properties of watercolor is the transparency of the paint layer, through which can penetrate the rays of light. Free flowing colours, soft transitions and saturation of color harmony, an active role of paper, its color and texture @all mdas that are reported by the watercolors of the incomparable sophistication of artistic language. A true master of the watercolour makes it possible to achieve a wide variety of visual effects, endless nuances of colors and contrasts of colors. Working in watercolors, painters often unfold in a new way.
Two carriages of the train "Aquarelle" is given to recognized artists, as Karl Briullov (1799-1852) and Mikhail Vrubel (1856-1910). Bright, bold watercolors of K. Briullov — portraits, genre scenes from Italian life the first half of the nineteenth century — fill the space with a cheerful atmosphere. F. Larionov, V. V. Kandinsky, Malevich, L. S. Popova, A. Exter, as well as works 1920-х years A. A. Deineka and V. V. Lebedev, who created the sleek images of the Soviet era.
