the artist's Son И. Д. Нерадовского. Studied in MUZHVZ (1888-1896) С. А. Коровина and Л. О. Пастернака; at the Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture in St. Petersburg (1896-1903) in the Studio И. Е. Репина; in 1903 he received the title of artist for the painting "Song".

In 1909-1932 lived in St. Petersburg (Petrograd, Leningrad). Participant of the First world war (1914-1916). As the author collaborated in the magazines "Apollo", "Old years". In 1909-1929 worked as a curator and then head of the art Department of the Russian Museum, in 1929-1932 — member of the Board of the Museum. Supervised the installation of new exhibition, cataloging and preparing Museum collections; in particular, was engaged in the transfer of Russian Museum of Peterhof is a series of portraits of the Smolny pupils Д. Г. Левицкого.

In 1920 — early 1930-х worked in the State Hermitage, the State Academy of history of material culture in Leningrad. In 1925-1928 — a member of the Board of State Tretyakov gallery, member of the scientific-художественной section of the State academic Council of Narkompros (1925).

Carried portraits, landscapes, genre scenes, sketches of book characters. He was engaged in lithography. The author of pencil portraits: "Л. Н. Толстой at the piano", К. А. Сомова, И. С. Остроухова, Е. С. Кругликовой; lithographed — В. М. Васнецова, А. С. Степанова and other; watercolor and pencil landscapes of the Crimea, Zagorsk, Pereslavl-Залесского.

In 1894 принял participation in the work of the First Congress of Russian artists and lovers of arts. Member of-учредитель all-Russian Congress of artists (1911-1912). Member of the Imperial Academy of arts (1914). Participated in the activities of the House of arts in Petrograd, 1919-1922 — member of the Supreme Council of the House of arts. A member of the Company's artistic revival of Russia (1915-1917), the society for the encouragement of arts (since 1918; in 1911-1928 —, the Chairman of the Committee), society of painters (1929).

9 октября 1933 was arrested on charges of espionage; 2 апреля 1934 along with a group of senior employees of the Russian Museum convicted under articles 58.10, 58.11 (espionage, action against the working class, shown at the Royal order) for 3 годам correctional-трудовых camps; on parole.

In 1935-1938 lived in Tarusa near Moscow. In 1938 was arrested again and sentenced under article 58.10 8 годам correctional-трудовых camps. 15 июня 1943 released early (in 1956 — rehabilitated).

Lived in Zagorsk (1943-1958). From 1943 directed the work of the Zagorsk branch of the Central state restoration workshops. Worked in the picture Zagorsk Museum-заповеднике. In 1958 he settled in Moscow.
