recent years, Moscow Museum of Modern Art presents the exhibition regularly in the style of contemporary art, so it might seem that part of the collection that represents the previous phases of the development of art, forever disappeared in vaults of the Museum. Due to numerous requests of visitors renewed demonstration of products, rich historical context - which reflect the diversity of trends and directions XX - beginning of XXI century, the contradictory course of artistic events.

The exhibition includes works of classical Russian avant-garde first quarter of the XX century, without which understanding of the creative processes of the century as a whole. The museum boasts a collection of works of the main representatives of this movement: Kazimir Malevich , Wassily Kandinsky , , Mikhail Fedorovich Larionov , Natalia Goncharova , Ilya Ivanovich Mashkov , Petr Konchalovsky , Boris Grigoriev , Alexander Archipenko Alexander , Ilya Chashnikov , Eduard Krimmer , Vladimir Dmitriev . A separate section is devoted to the new acquisitions to the collection of the Museum over the past few years.

Pirosmani - the legendary and tragic personality. Throughout his life, he lived at home in Georgia, almost without a break, however gained worldwide fame as a master of the primitivist direction. Pirosmani is the author of works on the theme of animalism, portraits of contemporaries, national typecasting. The artist used a specific set of colors, conciseness which revealed monumental gift.

interesting section of the exhibition with virtuoso Sangin Basil Shuhaeva , representing a neo-classical - generally the opposite of avant-gardism, but paradoxically supplementing it. Shuhaev lived a long, full of dramatic events of life. He made his career even before the revolution, traveled a lot, lived a long time abroad. In 1930 he returned to Soviet Russia and was soon arrested. After ten years of exile in Magadan Shuhaev moved to Georgia, where he became a professor at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts and favorite teacher .
