Results of Russian auction Christie's 1-2 December 2009 in London
Total revenue on the basis of a two-day Russian Christie's auction totaled 8.9 million pounds, sold 70 percent of lots, set a new world record for the works of Russian artist
Proceeds from the Russian Trade, held in the auction house Christie's 1 and 2 December 2009, amounted to 8 889 025 pounds. It sold 70 percent of lots, the statistics in monetary terms amounted to 82 per cent.
Top lot of the auction was the picture Nicholas Roerich (1874-1947)« The Legend ", written in 1923 and is part of a series of works by the artist called" Messiah ". Canvas gone under the hammer for 993 250 pounds, exceeding its initial upper estimate (700-900 thousand pounds).
After two days of trading section of painting was sold at 80 percent.

Demand was high product of Faberge, especially rare work with outstanding provenance. Gold cigarette case, decorated with enamel and precious stones, branded Michael Perkhin, made in St. Petersburg about 1890, was sold for 253 250 pounds, with a fourfold excess of estimate. Another cigarette case which belonged to Lady Muriel Paget (the first patron of the London offices of Faberge), found its buyer for 193 250 pounds, which exceeded the lower bar estimate is almost five times.
