the Society was founded in the summer of 1930 with the merger of "left wing" of the society of artists to them. A. I. Kuindzhi, as well as the Society of artists-индивидуалистов, Community of artists and society of painters.
the Reason for the establishment was a sharp attack on the last exhibition "coingestion", held in may 1930 at the Academy of fine arts. In June 1930 in Leningrad Newspapers published an appeal: "We believe that in these conditions the continued existence of the societies: name Kuindzhi, Communities, Individuals and coolant is inappropriate. The next step is the question of combining all public and artistic value that were part of the named companies, to create a single organization with a clearly defined program of social activities and artistic person for active participation in cultural construction of the Union", signed I. I. Brodsky, N. By I. Dormidontova, S. A. Pavlov, . E. By Radiovym, L. T. Chupiatov.
Soon place the organization of the society, which is located in the premises of the community of artists on Bolshaya Pushkarskaya street. The property of the new Association was the library and property of the Society. A. I. Kuindzhi. Was elected Chairman I. I. Brodsky (?), Deputy — N. I. Dormidontov.
In 1931 in Leningrad, among other companies "Shop" participated in the preparation of the exhibition "Soviet art of the reconstruction period," which opened in the summer of 1932 in the halls of the State Russian Museum.
