he Studied at the Drawing school of the Society for the encouragement of arts (1912-1913), the Petrograd Free art educational workshops — VKhUTEMAS (1917-1923) В. И. Шухаева, К. С. Петрова-Водкина, Д. Н. Кардовского, В. И. Козлинского, Д. И. Митрохина, В. М. Конашевича. While studying, he worked at art-граверном branch factory of Goznak.

he Lived in Petrograd (Leningrad). Executed landscapes, portraits, still lifes and Nude studies, thematic compositions. They travelled to socialist construction and to industrial production — on the Volkhov, the plant. Stalin in the Donbass. Many worked in the techniques of charcoal, sanguine, black watercolor; was doing color lithography.

The artist's works were exhibited at many international exhibitions and exhibitions of Soviet art abroad: in Toronto, Los-Анджелесе (1924-1925; mobile), Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen (1927-1928; mobile), Venice (1928, 1934), new-Йорке, Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit (1929; mobile) and others.

he Taught in Vhuteine — the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture (1929-1941). Died during the siege of Leningrad.

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including the State Russian Museum, State Tretyakov gallery, the Pushkin Museum im. А. С. Пушкина and others.
