In the Russian Museum March 2, the exhibition opens with one of the leading masters of Russian symbolism, Victor Borisov-Мусатова (1870-1905) and his followers — a member of the "Blue rose"

the Exhibition presents the work of V. E. Borisov-Мусатова (1870-1905) in the context of the continuation and development of his artistic programme in activities of the Association "Blue rose". The exhibition will enable for the first time in the Russian Museum to show the diversity of ways pictorial embodiment of ideas of symbolism in the works of Victor Borisov-Мусатова and representatives of this group — is largely a unique phenomenon in cultural life of Russia of the early twentieth century.

Next to the works of Borisov-Мусатова exhibit the work of Pavel Kuznetsov, Nikolai Krymov, Sergei Sudeikin, Nikolai Sapunov, Martiros Saryan, Bromirsky Peter, Peter Utkin, brothers Basil and Nikolai Milioti. It is also shown works by artists whose paintings and drawings are rarely found in Museum and private collections (Ivan Knabe, Nikolai Feofilaktov, Nikolay Ryabushinsky).

the Exhibition comprises about 80 paintings and graphic works from the collection of the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov gallery and private collections of St. Petersburg.
