Exhibition «Two. XX Century Paintings from Private Collections »opens today at Gallery« Our Artists », located in the village at Rublevo Borki-Assumption highway.

Exhibition «Two» is devoted to the theme in art - human relations. In the XX century they, as ever, were the creative minds. The focus of their attention - metaphysics of family, sexual, psychological relationships, when biased, and has studied the state of human consciousness through its links and relationship with another individual. Changes in the socio-cultural life in the XX century, an unprecedented vstryahnuli old ideas about morality have radically changed man. However, saving many values conservatism remained immutable - as opposed to transforming environment and the disorientation of the individual.

The exhibition does not pretend to be complete artistic illumination of complex social-psychological processes, rapidly changing internal shape of the modern man. Yet it raises questions about human values, those that have disappeared or remain with us.

Set paintings represent a significant interest in art, scenic views. The exhibition displays works of the masters of the beginning of the century ( Konstantin Andreevich Somov , Lev Bakst , Mstislav Dobuzhinsky , Ludo Gudiashvili , Pavel Kuznetsov , Nicholas Tarkhova , Nikolai Konstantinovich Kalmakova , Konstantin Korovin , etc.), works by the 1920-1930-x ( Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin , Paul Chelischeva , and others .) and more contemporary authors. The exhibition also includes work of some European artists ( Moses Kislinga , Stanley Spencer, etc.).

By the opening of the exhibition catalog is prepared, an introductory article written by Alexander Borovsky, head of the department of the latest trends of the Russian Museum.

Exhibition «Two» will be open from November 16, 2008 to January 18, 2009.
