In Nizhny Novgorod state art Museum opens the exhibition "Valentin Serov: in a circle of friends and students".

Valentin Serov (1865-1911) — key  the figure of Russian art of XIX–XX centuries. He is one of those few artists that have always aroused great interest. And this interest has not waned over the years. All his life, according to Sergei Makovsky, was a solid "a lesson of Russian painting".

Exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of Serov, gives you the opportunity to follow the creative path of the master on the example of the collection of his works from the collection of the Nizhny Novgorod state art Museum. This collection includes 16 paintings, original graphics and prints, from earliest youth Serov paintings, executed at the age of fourteen — sixteen years until literally the last works created shortly before the sudden death of the artist. Along with the creative heritage of the master, the exhibition includes works by friends and students Serov, presenting him not only as a great artist, but as a man of a noble soul, "endlessly loyal friend" and a wonderful teacher.
