Today at the State Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val opens exhibition “Poster. The artist and the time ”, covering nearly one hundred years of history of the poster in Russia

Today, June 2, at 14.00 in the State Tretyakov gallery on Krymsky Val, 10 (halls № 80-82) held a press-показ of the exhibition "Poster. Therefore, the exhibition allows to identify the stages of stylistic evolution of art in Russia through the story of the poster.

New themes and artistic techniques have emerged after 1917, when the narrative language of the old advertising graphics turned laconicism, energy and expression in the spirit of the avant-garde.

Artists of the "rosta Windows": V. Lebedev ("Red Army and Navy defending Russia", 1920) in Petrograd, V. V. Mayakovsky and M. M. Cheremnykh in Moscow — have developed a schematic of the generalized language and recurring images — graphic symbols of the opposing forces. Further to the poster addressed A. M. Rodchenko ("Dobrolet", 1923) and other constructivists, through advertising claiming a new "design of life itself". The interest of this kind of graphics and have led to such masters as Y. I. Pimenov and A. A. Deineka, whose sketch poster "collective Farmer — whether fizkulturnikom!" (1930) demonstrated for the first time.

Satire was again especially popular in the prewar period and the war years, whenthe poster clearly showed themselves cartoonists — Kukryniksy, B. If the 48 exhibits — a small part of the collection of posters from the collections of graphics of the twentieth century the Tretyakov gallery — mostly show the formation of the Soviet poster, the extensive collection of the Moscow Union of artists returns the viewer to the recent past.
