Claude Monet (1840-1926). In the Park Monceau. 1878

Cloth «In the Park Monceau» written in 1878, during attacks by the harsh criticism of the style «Impressionism», one of the founders of which was Claude Monet. Painting ( estimeyt 3,5-4,5 million pounds ), since 2001 owned the Museum of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, is one of the three series of works by an artist in one period. Other work belongs to the Metropolitan Museum in New York. At the beginning of 1878 Monet moved from Arzhanteya in Paris, in the hope of escaping from their creditors and find new customers, who would become his regular customers and would enable it to cope with financial difficulties. Presumably, Claude Monet traveled to the city park at the suggestion of Ernest Oshede, which was the most influential patron of the artist in the early period of his creativity. Monet's wife, Camilla, in March 1878 gave birth to a son, and it is believed that the group at the forefront of the picture - this is Camille with Child and Alice Oshede, wife of artist's patron, who after many years became the second wife of Claude Monet.

Paris Garden brilliantly depicted in the painting, the ability to master fine-feel, and play a game of light and shade later became an integral part of the artistic movement of Impressionism. The group further plans to light up bright canvases sunlight, while the figures in the foreground coated lush spring shadows. Written shortly after Monet moved to Paris, the painting «In the Park Monceau» appears important transition point from a series of rural landscapes Arzhanteya to the new types of urban Paris. The following year, Claude Monet's famous series of paintings create depicting San Lazare train station.

picture is a very fruitful period in the artist's works. Written a year after the publication of «futuristic Manifesto» Filippo Marinetti, it demonstrates the development of enchanting visual style painter, is a vivid reflection of the development of movements pointillism, expressionism and futurism. With the help of Franz Marc studied painting mystical internal forces that enliven nature, he preferred to depict animals, sincerely believing spiritual man.

picture was bought from the artist's widow in about 1937, and since it was not to look at the audience. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of canvas, first put up for auction, will be about 3-4 million pounds.

Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968). Two nude figures: the strength and speed. 1912

Job Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968) «Two naked figures: the strength and speed» in 1912 is one of the few major figures of early author, who still remain in private collections (0,8-1 2 million pounds). Pertaining to the period when the artist quickly broke into the art world, causing a loud noise controversial, this figure - one of three radical and innovative designs that Duchamp created the spring of 1912 to the canvas «The King and Queen, surrounded by naked» (it is now included in the exhibit Museum of Fine Arts in Philadelphia). This is a famous artist canvas exhibited at the «Salon of Independent Artists» in Paris - but the picture was rejected, as critics took it as a mockery of cubism. In 1913 Marcel Duchamp exhibited it in New York Contemporary Art Fair «ArmorGroup Show», and once again the work has received conflicting opinions. Cloth «The King and Queen, surrounded by naked», for which a drawing, put up for auction, served as the early sketches, depicts a figure whose movements contrasted with the static entities. Cubism was, by their nature static and Duchamp to destroy this artificial tension, adding to their canvases dynamics. Located mainly in the collection of Gabriel Buffa-Picabia, the figure belonged to the present owner over 30 years and put up for auction for the first time.

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). The man with the sword. Seated Nude, and the flute player

Confirmation of this outcome serves the New York auctions in the category of «The Art of Impressionism and Modernism», held in May this year when work «musketeer with tubes» 1968, «Women in the Hat» 1970, painted by Picasso went under the hammer for 9.8 million and 5.2 million pounds, respectively.

On the canvas «Seated Nude, and the flute player» vigorously, a few strokes depicts a musician playing the flute naked woman who sits at the forefront. In the sixties of the last century, Picasso painstakingly developed a theme the artist and his model. In model terms, one can find similarities with Jacqueline, Picasso's wife, a flautist thin, perhaps, is the artist himself, who by that time, more and more frequently visited by the idea of frailty.

Joan Miro (1893-1983). No name. 1949

Cloth Joan Miro (1893-1983) «Untitled», 1949 is one of the outstanding works the artist executed in the years 1949-1950 and known as the so-called «slow» paintings. In 1947 Miro traveled to America, where he was crowned with laurels for his work. Then, a trip to Europe, Miró returned to Barcelona. Subsequent years were to the artist's most productive. In the years 1949-1950 Miro inspired by the glory and recognition, creating two strikingly dissimilar series. Subjects «slow» original paintings carefully artist, and then gently and carefully reproduced, while the «natural» pictures obtained by the spontaneous improvisations. The work, which will be offered for auction in June, is an excellent example of «slow» Painting and the result of a long and careful artistic process.

At the auction will be works by Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) «View of the embankment and Malakeh Institute» ( 0,9-1,5 million pounds ) 1903, which is an exceptional example of the late urban landscape in the style of Pissarro Impressionism.
