David Friedman earned a fortune in the manufacture of bricks. But with the coming to power of the Nazis, he began to take his property. All over the fact that Friedman was forced to bequeath all his property in favor of the Nazi General Ewald von Kleist (Ewald von Kleist). It so happened that his nephew David Toren have to witness this. That morning father David Toren was arrested by Gestapo agents. However, because he was lawyer David Friedman, his presence was required at the signing of the necessary papers to transfer the property to von Kleist. David Friedman died a natural death in 1942. His only daughter died in Auschwitz. David's parents Torana died in the same concentration camp, and the boy was saved during large-scale rescue operation to save Jewish children in the "Kindertransport". He grew up in Sweden, and later emigrated to the USA where he still lives today. All works from the collection of his great-grandfathers were confiscated. Painting max Liebermann eventually fell into the hands of art dealer Hildebrandt Gurlitt, whose son Cornelius decades was hiding in his Munich apartment of about 1,500 works of art from the collection of father. And by the way, painting max Liebermann was one of the few that have been awarded places on the wall in the apartment of Cornelius, not stacked in boxes. Because of this it is very well preserved. In 2012 alone, about the collection Gurlitt became aware of the tax police, and only two years later became the talk of the world. Cornelius Gurlitt, who died at the age of 81 years, the eve of his death bequeathed his Art collection to the Museum of the city of Bern. Now the Museum is searching for heirs disputed robot@
