BROMIRSKY Peter Ignatievich

Born in a poor middle class family. In 1896-1900 he studied at the Vladimir-Volyn City College. At the age of fourteen years, arrived in Moscow for some time lived in the house of a psychiatrist FA Usol'tseva, where he met with MAVrubel. In 1906 entered MUZhViZ, studied at the sculpture department at the SM Volnukhin and PP Trubetskoy. Full course is not finished. In the early 1900's met Mamontov. In 1903 began working on a pottery factory Abramtzevo "for Butyrskaya Gate in Moscow, actually lived at the plant until 1913. Performed on the plant for more than ten pieces: statuettes, vases decorative panels, inserts.

In 1905, cooperated with the magazine "Art", for which the vignette, wallpapers and covers. In the same year exhibited his work at the exhibition of the Moscow Association of Artists.

In MUZHVZ entered the artistic circle of young artists, headed by PV Kuznetsov. Participated in exhibitions of "Blue Rose" (1907), "Wreath-Stephanos" (1907-1908), "Golden Fleece" (1907-1910). In 1907-1908, together with other members of the Commonwealth engaged in decoration estate Y. Zhukovsky New Kuchuk-Coy in the Crimea. In 1910 he accompanied Mamontov a journey to Italy. Returned to Moscow in connection with the death MAVrubel, withdrew his death mask.

During the First World War he was drafted into the Army in 1917 discharged. After the October Revolution he taught at art school, NI Vasiliev. In 1918-1919 headed the sculpture studio in the Second State of free art workshops, then - VHUTEMAS. In 1919, created a monument VISurikova for the Red Square in Moscow under the plan of monumental propaganda. The monument was executed in the form of the apocalyptic angel with a sword and a chalice in the hands of sheet iron in the technique of punch. Already made in the material of the sculpture was installed, was not preserved.

suddenly died of typhus in early 1920 in Staro Basman hospital. He was buried in a common grave.

In 1924 Bromirskogo works were exhibited at the exhibition association "Makovets", one of the founders of which he is. In 2000, Russia held a retrospective exhibition of the artist.

Bromirsky - one of the most talented masters of the sculpture of his time. Despite the extremely short artistic career, has managed to develop its own recognizable style, in which the image-vision in the spirit of symbolism combined ironic grotesque. Most of the works of the master created for the Gospel themes, mostly pictures of angels, executed in an expressive manner.

artistic heritage of the master is relatively small, most of it are preparatory drawings. Works are in many museum and private collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery.
