the Initial art education has received in Berlin the goose (1885-1886). Studied in MUZHVZ (1888-1889) as auditors have В. Е. Маковского and Е. С. Сорокина then — in Munich (1890), Duerr and Ф. Рота. In the same year traveled to Italy, France, Germany, England. In 1891 presented to the competition under the painting "adrift (After mayhem)", for which he was awarded the diploma.

she Lived in Moscow. Painted genre paintings, landscapes, portraits, still lifes; many worked in the techniques of pastel, watercolor, drawing. Author of painting works: "Stories" (1889), "In the poorhouse" (1891), "Dancer" (1892), "Old friends" (early 1890-х), "At work" (1894, tempera), "Nuns" (1896), "Children", "evening" (1897), "Bouquet of lilacs" (1911), "Italian" (1911).

From 1888 — participant of exhibitions. Member of the Moscow society of art lovers (1897; at exhibitions — 1891-1902, with interruptions), the Moscow Association of artists (1901, exhibitions — 1901-1913, with interruptions), Society of Moscow artists (from 1914). Exhibited at the exhibitions of MUZHVZ (1888/1889), "Artists of Moscow — fellow soldiers" (1915), exhibition-продаже paintings of Russian artists of the salon "Unicorn" (1916), 1-й, 2-й (both — 1918) and 9-й (1919) exhibitions of paintings of the Professional Union of artists in Moscow;; (1898, 1903) in Moscow and St. Petersburg; exhibitions in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (1893, 1896) in St. Petersburg; the all-Russia industrial and art exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod (1896); the International art exhibition in Rome (1911).

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — of the State Tretyakov gallery.
