a Founding meeting was held in may 1914, the first General meeting — in October 1914. By early 1915 it had 36 full members. In December 1914 opened 1-я (and only) exhibition of the society, which was attended by all its members, as well as I. I. Mashkov and L. O. Pasternak. The collection of exhibition, and a quarter of the proceeds from the sale of paintings, entered in favor of the families of soldiers of the army.
In 1915 when the society was open art Studio twice a week classes were held. The society made presentations on issues of modern and classical art, in particular on March 18, 1915 A. V. Grishchenko read the report "Why and how we came to the Russian icon". On Friday they held a family evening.
