Today at Interart gallery in Geneva opens the exhibition "Pierre Dmitrienko: Presence", which is a rare collection of twenty works spanning a period of creativity Pierre Dmitrienko (Pierre Dmitrienko, 1925-1974) from 1954 to 1973 God@

the exhibition includes 13 picturesque and 7 graphic works mainly from private collections. In the works 1954-1973, reflects the stylistic development Dmitrienko from lyrical abstraction associated with Lansky and Matta, to his later and very strong works, original interpretive Christian icons and cruelty of human otnoshenii@

Pierre Dmitrienko was one of the artists of the Paris School of Russian descent, whose works, along with Andre Lanskoy, Serge Polyakov, Nicolas de steel were presented at the landmark exhibition "Four Russian in Paris" at the gallery in 1984 Melki Godo@

And since then, the legacy Dmitrienko was no serious support gallerists. Over the last decade his work has been presented only in two shows, and both were held in Paris. His last exhibition outside France took place in Luxembourg in 1980. However, for connoisseurs Dmitrienko is a cult figure. His works are in collections of major museums such as MOMA in new-Йорке, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Brussels, the Museum of fine arts in tel Aviv-Авиве and the Tate Gallery in London@

Pierre Dmitrienko was born in 1925 in Paris in a family of Russian immigrants who had fled Russia after the revolution. He was raised in a Russian cultural environment. Pierre was admitted to the Paris Academy of Fine Arts to study architecture, but switched to painting and participated in his first group exhibition at the Gallery Maeght in 1947. His first monographic exhibition held at the Galerie de la Paix in Lausanne in 1950. In 1951-54, he worked as a designer in the store Le Printemps. Before moving to Paris Atelier on place de La Bastille, from 1954 to 1963 he lived in the suburbs of Paris. From 1962 to 1971, spent a winter in Ibiza. In 1964 he visited Japan in 1967 — Peru and new-Йорк, where he met with mark Rothko. Pierre Dmitrienko died in 1974 at the age of 48 from raka@
