Museum of History of St. Petersburg opened an exhibition of Vladimir Vasilyevich Sterligova (1904-1973) - student K. Malevich , creator of the theory of " chashno domed space" in art. On display are paintings and graphic works by the master of the collections of the State Museum of St. Petersburg , the Museum " Tsarskoye Selo Collection", Museum of organic crops and private collections .
V. V. Sterligov born 5 (18) in March 1904 in Warsaw. Since 1905 he lived in Moscow . Sterligov studied painting in private studios . In 1925, he met with Malevich and was admitted to GINHUK , where he was researching the problems of Cubism and Suprematism . Worked under the guidance of Malevich until 1934 .
From 1934 to 1938 on a false charge was in Karaganda camp. Then lived and worked in Karaganda. In 1940 , prescribed in suburban Petushki , lived mainly in Moscow . In early 1941, he moved to Malaya Vishera near Leningrad. During the Great Patriotic War, fought on the Karelian Front , where he received a severe wound . Then was evacuated to Alma-Ata . Here he met his future wife Tatiana T. Glebova - Filonov . In 1945 they both returned to Leningrad , were engaged in industrial graphics for the Chamber of Commerce , worked on the decoration of expositions of the Museum of Ethnography of Peoples of the USSR and the Museum of the History of Leningrad .
From 1960 until his death, was engaged Sterligov theoretical and practical development of artistic ideas " chashno domed space" : the curve , the bowl , the dome became the basis for the artist's symbolic and religious structure of the universe . Wizard formed around a group of associates and followers. It included artists EN Aleksandrov , A. B. Buchanan , VP Volkov, AN Gostintsev , Gritsenko , G. G. Zubkov , AA Kiselev , AF Kojin , art EF Kovtun ( Russian Museum) and AV Povelikhina (Museum of the History of Leningrad ).
About creativity Sterligova very accurately said the French art critic Michel Ragon : "Painting Sterligova - refined , very soft colors and always built on curves. Sometimes it is completely abstract, sometimes specifically, but always inspired by nature ».
When the artist's life took place only a few exhibitions of his work , mainly in workshops fellow artists . Official exhibition opened in LOSH in April 1966 , was closed after four hours the decision of the Union . Lasted one day exhibition at the Institute of Theory and History of Architecture and the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin in Moscow in 1970 .
The exhibition at the fortress presents about 80 works by artists of the late 1950s - early 1970s .
