April 18 at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art opens exhibition of Moscow artists expressionist Aaron Buch , dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the master. Organized in collaboration with the Museum of Aron Bukh. Curators: Elena Yakovleva, Sergei Alexandrov. The exposition will feature about 70 paintings and drawings from the Museum Aron Bukh and private collections, as well as film, in which the artist captures the work.

Aron Bukh (1923-2006) was born in the Ukraine, in the city of Berdichev, Zhitomir region. At 13, he moved with his parents to Moscow, where he became engaged in drawing. He studied painting under the guidance of the famous Soviet artists Konstantin Yuon Konstantin and Basil Baksheeva . Exhibited in 1948 at Moscow, Republican and All-Union exhibitions, member of the Union of Artists since 1959.

Much of career, from the 1950s to the early 1980s, developed in line with traditions of the Union of Russian Artists and fond impressionism. Despite membership in the Union of Artists, Buch was officious artist or conformist - a relationship with the system it did not work out, which eventually led to the creative self-isolation, it was not interested in the doctrine of official art, weighed down by the need to work order. However, unofficial art that existed in the Soviet Union, in parallel, the artist also drew - in artistic circles underground Buch was not known. It does not interested in the problems of modern art, he has worked all his life as if he was not there and neither of conceptual art, neither Dada nor social art, or other important trends. He was an artist, a loner out of context.

Since 1980 Buch abandoned his painting system and turned to expressionism: stopped using brushes and palette, worked with his hands, mixing paint directly on the canvas. Unlike their American supporters, abstract expressionist Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, Buch gets to be figurative, but as they moved the focus from the result of painting on the process itself. Came the flowering of creativity, and it lasted until the death of the artist. Buch made the art of their daily practice. Just as a daily practice in skill athletes Buch worked every day from morning till night, working on his elbows in paint, sometimes even wrote new works over the old ones, when not enough blank canvas. Despite his original method, Buch continued to think of classical art genres: portrait, landscape, still life, cityscapes, nudes.

of local artists Aaron Buhu closest in nature and method is Anatoly Zverev . They were both loners, both expressed in painting and drawing expression, both were obsessed with creation, both left a tremendous legacy in scope, almost indescribable.
