Today, October 14, in the halls of the Art Gallery of Zurab Tsereteli (Prechistenka, 19) opens an exhibition of works by folk artist in Mordovia, Honoured Artist of Russia Fedota Vasilyevich Sychkov (1870-1958). The exhibition features over 40 works from the collection of Mordovia Republican Museum of Fine Arts SD Erzya. Cheerful, sparkling with youth and enthusiasm the artist's oeuvre, the heroes who were his countrymen, - a kind of chronicle of the Mordovian edge.
FV Sychkov born in 1870 in the village Kochelaevo Penza province (now the Republic of Mordovia), the son of Russian peasants. In 1892 he entered the drawing school Society for the Encouragement of Arts in St. Petersburg. From 1895 to 1900 he continued his education at the Art Academy, class of battle paintings by famous artists ND Kuznetsov and PO Kowalewski .
