To the 65 anniversary of the Nizhny Tagil Museum of Fine Arts in the halls of an exhibition of his watercolors and drawings Pavel Ivanovich Basmanova . It was formed from the artist's works held in collections daughter, Marina Basmanova.

Pavel Ivanovich Basmanov born in the village Batalova Altai province in 1906. He died in St. Petersburg in 1993. In 1920-1922 he studied in the Altai art workshops, in 1923-1927 - at the Leningrad Technical School of Industrial Art. Throughout his life the artist lived in Petrograd-Leningrad - St. Petersburg, where he created his best works. In the 1930 Basmanov joined a group of artists, which included , N. Tyrsa , N. Lapshin , In . Ermolaeva , V. Tatlin and others, amounted to a further major nucleus of the future Detgiz (State Children's Publishing).

Since 1935 Paul Basmanov - participant of exhibitions. His work is adjacent to the flow of "painterly realism" which emerged in the Russian Soviet painting 1920. For the artist-philosopher is characterized by the influence of ancient fresco.
