According to many British critics, the most likely contender for the prize is Roger Hiorns (Roger Hiorns, pp. 1975). He received a nomination for the project in 2008 "Capture", for which he made from an ordinary apartment, located in an abandoned house, the real magic castle. Artist ordered to cover the ceiling and walls of the flat layer of copper sulfate solution, and after some time on the treated surfaces appear shiny bright blue crystals. Almost all the works Hiornsa consist of two elements, one of which is "natural" and the other created by man. The material for one of the works exhibited in the Tate, served ... worn in a powder engine passenger aircraft. With gray metallic dust Hiorns has created something resembling a hilly landscape. Impressionable people might think that this work "speaks" of the crash, and the artist partly agree with this interpretation: In this work he maintains his fear of flying.

Hiorns also introduced three wall sculptures, for which he used a plastic, steel and dried bovine brains. The latter, however, does not look scary or disgusting: not knowing that it is brains, in life never guess that there is a brown mass of this.
