Picture of Natalia Goncharova "Loggers" will be the top lot in Christie's auction November 4-5, 2013 in new York. 2-5 October work will bring to Moscow to the pre-auction exhibition

At Christie's auction in new York on 4-5 November 2013 years exhibited a picture of "Loggers" brush Natalia Goncharova with a preliminary estimate 6-8 million dollars. Christie's will bring this rare work of 1911 pre-auction exhibition, which will be held in the Tourbillon boutique on Petrovka 2 5 Oktyabrya@

Canvas "Loggers" was last exhibited in Russia more than 100 years ago. This is a significant period of creativity Goncharova, when her style of writing influenced strongly bold colors and simple forms of Russian folk art. Bearing the clear imprint of both Eastern and Western influences, in particular  French avant-garde art, the work is included in the dated 1908-1911 over the years a series of outstanding works of Goncharova, dedicated to the representatives of the Russian peasantry. This, in turn, is a characteristic feature of the awakening of national consciousness in Russian art, which became the basis for its further development. In these works, the artist deliberately ignores the familiar images of urban life, instead glorifying the life of Russian province, resorting to bold simplification of compositional decisions and Fauvist color saturation. Picture "Loggers" has an exhibition history and provenance. Being in the collection of artists since its creation, participated in the first exhibition of the art Association "Donkey's tail" in March — April, 1912 years and in a personal exhibition of the artist held in Moscow Art salon on Bolshaya Dmitrovka in September — November, 1913 years. From July to September 1961 years "Loggers" was exhibited in the gallery Beyeler in Basel.
