Kandinsky in Russian Bonhams auction

On 24 November the Russians bid auction house Bonhams will present works by Vasily Kandinsky, Alexandra Exter, Natalia Goncharova, Alexei Kharlamov, Vladimir Makovsky

Rare work Vasily Vasily Kandinsky , long kept in a private collection, will be one of the most interesting upcoming auction lots Bonhams, dedicated to Russian art, which will be held on 24 November in London. The painting is called «At the sea shore» and is estimated at 100-150 thousand pounds. Despite the fact that it is very different from later, abstract works by Kandinsky brought wide popularity, it is one of the most important early works. The picture, painted with tempera, depicting a girl in a yellow dress, sitting on a bench at the beach, exhibited at the Autumn Show in Paris in 1904. She subsequently became the property of the famous Russian collector Jacob Rubenstein, and exhibited in many galleries throughout the Soviet Union.

In addition to the work of Kandinsky, the auction will be presented to nearly 250 lots, covering the period from the XIX century until our days, the total value of their estimated at 5 million pounds. At the tender can be purchased Faberge imperial treasures, paintings of XIX century brush Alexei Kharlamov and Vladimir Makovsky , Alexandra Exter , Natalia Goncharova , Verevkin Marianne , Alexandra Arkhipenko , as well as works by postwar artists Oleg Oleg Tselkova , Nemukhin , Shimon Okshteyna , Sergei Sergei Volkov and Constantine Constantine Zvezdochetova .

In the list of lots draw the attention of such interesting works as «Winter: gathering firewood» Natalia Goncharova (estimeyt 150-200 thousand pounds), «Fishermen» Marianne Verevkin (100-150 thousand pounds) and «Torso »Alexander Arkhipenko (200-300 thousand pounds).

Alexei Kharlamov submitted bids by two portraits of girls: «Select apples» (350-500 thousand pounds) and «Girl with grapes» (250-300 thousand pounds). Scene V. Makovsky «total joy», which depicted her grandmother and granddaughter together feeding chickens in the yard of the village houses, estimated at 60-80 thousand pounds.
