Born into a peasant family. The first drawing skills obtained in Zemstvo school, PK Dyumaeva (1877-1880). Sychkov belongs to the large but little-known artists of the first half of XX century. He worked primarily as a genre painter and landscape. The heyday of his work falls on the 1910's, at the same time formed a picturesque manner, the main features of which persisted during the Soviet years. His paintings Sychkov wrote free broad strokes, pasty-saturated colors. The coloring is often built on a combination of restrained overall tone and bright decorative color spots that emphasize details of the image and "invigorating" composition. On the whole career of the master finds many similarities as to the activities of the masters of the Union of Russian Artists, and later the Wanderers.
