born in the family of artist-decorator. Original art education was under the leadership of his father and DI Bezperchego in the 2 nd of the Kharkov school, where he studied in 1873-1878. In 1875-1878 also attended the studio E. Schrader and Kharkiv drawing school MD Raevskaya-Ivanova.

In 1878 he joined a volunteer at the Sculpture Department IAH, studied with AR von Bock, NA Laveretskogo, II Podozerova. He received all existing academic awards: in 1883 and 1884 - two small silver medal for clay modeling, and a sketch of wax, in 1885 - large and small silver medal for clay modeling, as well as four accolades of the IAH, 1886 - a small gold medal for the program "Cain, tormented conscience after the murder of his brother and three prizes for the bas-reliefs (" Meeting of Solomon with the Queen of Sheba "," Sermon on the Mount "," Moses exudes water from a stone "). In 1887 for the competitive program - a bas-relief "The Entombment" - was awarded a large gold medal, received the certificate class artist 1-th degree and the right to a pensioner's trip abroad.

From September 1887 to January 1888 he taught at the Drawing School Society for the Encouragement of Arts. Since 1888 - Retired IAH in Rome. Worked independently. Visited Paris. In 1891 he returned to St. Petersburg. In 1892, for work performed during pensionerstva - "the first Christian centuries" (marble), "runaway slave" (plaster), "Woe" (bronze), the bust of Madame Malyutin (marble), and others - was awarded academic staff and appointed associate professor.

Since 1893 - Member of IAH. In 1894-1895 - head of the molding workshop Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at IAH, in 1894-1918 - Professor, Head of Sculpture Studio School, in 1900-1903 and 1906-1911 - Rector of the College, many working on behalf of IAH Council and a member of various art commissions and committees, participated in the organization of tenders for projects of monuments. Engaged in easel and monumental sculpture, worked with small sculptures. In the work turned to genre themes ( "Country Love", 1896), Portrait (NN Beketov, 1894, 1917; AA Rizzoni, 1902; VE ; Makovsky, 1906; IE Tsvetkov, 1909; AIKuindzhi). Beklemishev - one of the greatest Russian sculptors of the second half of XIX - beginning of the twentieth century. In his work intertwined traditions of the late academic and influence the Wanderers. For works of masters of pictorial interpretation of the typical forms, often "agile" impressionistic modeling, together with the composition and graphic clarity.
