from family surveyor, great-nephew of the artist AV Tyranova.

original artistic skills has received the Constantine Land Survey Institute. In 1881 he became acquainted with P. M. Tretyakov, who recommended its Sorokin for admission to MUZHVZ. Studied in MUZHVZ (1885-1895) in E. Sorokin, IM Pryanishnikova, Vladimir Makovsky, A. Arkhipov, H . A. Kasatkin. In 1891-1892 for drawing from nature was awarded a small silver medal, in 1895 for his film "lost" was the title of the class artist. After MUZHVZ continued his education at the Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at IAH (1895-1897) in Repin's studio, then worked in private studios in Paris (1897-1898), traveled to Rome.

lived in Moscow, visited the Crimea (around 1900). He painted genre scenes, portraits, landscapes, since 1917 created a picture of the historical-revolutionary themes dealt with political posters.

Since 1891 - participant of exhibitions (student's, MUZHVZ). Member (since 1902) and the exponents of the Moscow Society of Lovers of Fine Arts (1895-1902, 1904). Participated in exhibitions TPHV (1898-1901, 1905), combining "free creativity" (1916-1918), 1 st exhibition of paintings of a trade union of artists (1918), the exhibition "10 years of the Maly Theater" (1927), "Socialist construction in Soviet art "(1930, 1931)," Artists of the older generation of the RSFSR "(1940) in Moscow, Kislovodsk exhibition watercolor paintings and drawings of Soviet Artists (1939) in Kislovodsk and others. Held solo exhibitions in Moscow (1926, 1927, 1934, 1939, 1940), Leningrad (1927, 1940), Orenburg (1928), Lvov and Bialystok (1940).
