from a military family. He graduated from the Odessa real school (1866), studied at Peter's Academy of Agricultural Sciences (did not finish the course for health reasons). In 1888-1890 as an auditor visited Odessa drawing school, where he studied under the guidance of Ladyzhenskaya and KK Kostandi. In 1890, a figure with the figures of plaster and painting "The Help Desk (in office)" was awarded two large bronze medals. In 1890 he entered the picturesque branch IAH, but in the same year "domestic reasons" left his studies and returned to Odessa. In 1891 he traveled to Europe, in Paris, attended the Academy R. In 1891 he became one of the founders and active participants of exhibitions of the Association of South Russian Artists (1891-1915, with interruptions). Held solo exhibitions in Odessa (1935, 1940).
In 1937-1945 he taught at the Odessa Art College. Collected a considerable art collection, the basis of which consists of works of artists in southern Russian and French masters of the late XIX - early XX centuries.
Bukovetskogo Retrospective exhibitions were held in Kiev (1950) and Odessa (1960-1967).
Bukovetskogo works are in many museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Odessa Art Museum and others.
