Studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts (1914-1918) at the AA Rylov, Nicholas Roerich, Ivan Bilibin , GM Bobrovsky, then in Petrograd free art workshops - Higher Art (1918-1922, with interruptions) in VI Shuhaeva, D. Kardovsky, K . S. Petrov-Vodkin, VE Tatlin. In 1919 - early 1920 working as an artist on the Western Front.

lived in Petrograd - Leningrad. He was engaged in painting and graphics, book graphics. Participated in exhibitions of "Community of Artists" (1922), the Association of Artists (1923). In 1924 it was one of the founders AHRR (1924-1928, with interruptions, from 1924 - the first chairman of the Leningrad branch). Member and exhibitor of "Sixteen" (1924, 1927), "Workshop Artists" (1930-1932, Vice-Chairman). Since 1932 - Member of the USSR Union of Artists.

Dormidontova works were exhibited in many exhibitions in the prefabricated home and abroad, notably in the exhibitions "Russian figure for ten years, the October Revolution in Moscow (1927), the commemorative exhibition" Artists of the RSFSR XV years in Moscow and Leningrad (1932-1934), a traveling exhibition of Soviet art in the USA and Canada (New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, 1924-1925), a traveling exhibition marking the 10 th anniversary of the October Revolution (Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen; 1927-1928), XVI International Exhibition of Art in Venice (1928), Artistic and Handicraft Exhibition of the USSR in New York (1929) and many others.

Dormidontova works are in several museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum and others.
