occurred from a merchant family. The first artistic skills obtained in the Saratov school in VV Konovalov. In 1885-1891 studied law at Moscow University. Simultaneously, self-involved drawing and painting since 1889 continuously participated in drawing polenovskih evenings. In 1891 he moved to St. Petersburg and entered the IAH (VHU), he studied under Pavel Chistyakov and in Repin's studio. He took private lessons with Valentin Serov. in 1898 as a pensioner IAH went to France, studied at the Academy R. Julien in Paris T. Robert-Fleury. Many traveled to Europe, visited Sweden, Belgium, France, England. In 1900 he returned to St. Petersburg. In 1900-1903 he taught at the Drawing School of Princess Tenisheva.

From 1904 he lived in Moscow. Since 1904, together with K. Pervukhin conducted full-scale classes and figured at the Stroganov School of Industrial Art. In 1907 opened his own school "Art classes for teaching private pupils of painting and drawing. In 1913-1914 for his teaching career he was awarded the Order of St. Anne 3rd degree.

Participated in the Spring exhibition in the halls of IAH (1902-1904), exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Lovers of Fine Arts (1895-1909, with interruptions), the Berlin Secession (1901), the New Society of Artists. Member and exhibitor TPHV (since 1915).

After the October Revolution of 1917 was a member of the union "painters". In 1918-1920 - professor of plastic anatomy and drawing in the first state of free art workshops (VHUTEMAS), then taught at the handicraft art school, Prechistensky practical institute. In 1924-1926 headed the artist's studio in Leontief Lane in Moscow.

Sherbinovsky belongs to a little-known, however, notable masters of the first third of the twentieth century, whose works are distinguished by the high level of professional skill and extremely exact style of his time. Wrote urban and rural landscapes in the Impressionist style of improvisation, rarely turned to the portrait. Artworks inherent latitude, the freedom of brushwork, the freshness and richness of colors, the precision in the transmission of light air and the immediacy of "live" nature of perception.

Shcherbinovskaya works are in many museum and private collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Scientific Research Museum of Russia Academy of Arts and others.
