Andrei EGOROV Afanasievich
Painter, graphic artist
a Descendant of Tver the peasants, moved by Peter I in the vicinity of Reval. Initial artistic skills has received in St.-Петербурге in school of the deaf (1887-1896). He studied at the Drawing school society for the encouragement of the arts (1896-1897, 1899-1901) Я. Ф. Ционглинского in the Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture under the Imperial Academy of arts (1901-1909) as a volunteer at В. А. Савинского, Г. Р. Залемана, И. М. Творожникова with 1903 — in the Studio И. Е. Репина and Д. Н. Кардовского. In 1909 за painting "In the village" received the title of artist.
Lived in St. Petersburg. Traveled to Russia, travelled to Sweden and Finland. Was engaged in painting churches in Taganrog and Saratov. During the Civil war as a volunteer joined the army; worked as an artist of the political Department of the First Cavalry army (1919-1920).
From 1921 в Tallinn. Member of Union of Russian artists in Estonia (the beginning of 1920-х). In 1940, he received Soviet citizenship. During the great Patriotic war he was in evacuation in the Urals.

The author of a number of portraits ("portrait of a man", 1907; "Houska girl", 1914; "Portrait of wife", 1915) and thematic pictures ("the Sad letter from the war", 1915; "Punishment", 1943; "Liberation of Tallinn by Soviet troops in 1944 году", 1945; "Loading", 1948; "the capture of the fascist", 1940-е; "people rally 21 июля 1940 года in Tallinn", 1950).
From 1903 — participant of exhibitions (exhibitions reporting higher art school at the Imperial Academy of arts, St-Петербург). Participant of exhibitions of Russian artists in London (1913), Estonian artists in Riga (1926), Helsinki, Paris, Lubeck, Kiel (1930), Cologne, Copenhagen (1931), the Hague (1937). Held a personal exhibition in Tallinn (1948). The honored worker of arts of Estssr (1948).
