This is the first complete retrospective of Natalia Goncharova in the UK. Many of the works were first shown in this country. Enriched the exhibition at the Tate, including works from the Tretyakov gallery — on the world's largest collection of works of the artist.
the Exhibition is arranged in thematic and partly chronological order. The first room is devoted to the peasant theme in the work of Goncharova, childhood which took place in the depths of the countryside, in the estates of his father in Tula province. Second — early Moscow works.
the Third section is partially rekonstruiruet exhibition of 1913 at the Art salon Claudia Mikhailova in Moscow. It was the first large-scale solo exhibition of the artist; 800 submitted works caused a wide resonance, about 32-летней Goncharova talking everywhere. The exhibition was first presented damatically polyptych "the Harvest" (1911). Tate brought all seven surviving parts — from the Tretyakov gallery, Kostroma, Omsk and the Pompidou Centre. For the first time since 1913 "Harvest" gathered in 2013 at the exhibition in the Tretyakov gallery on the Crimean Shaft. Now this is repeated in the Tate.
In the fourth room I remember, as it is now called "collaboration" Natalia Goncharova with fashion designers, her patterns of embroideries and fabrics for the workshop of the Moscow fashion designer Nadezhda Lamanova, as well as works for the Parisian "Fashion house Mirror" that belonged to Marie Cuttoli.
a Separate room is given over to the theme of the First world war and the first works of Goncharova lithographically — her series "Mystical images of war". In the sixth hall presents "Evangelists" — series 1911 of four monumental paintings, now belonging to the Museum collection. The seventh hall is dedicated to the literary works Goncharova, including joint publications with poet-футуристом Alexei Kruchenykh.
the Remaining three halls of the exhibition refer to works in the style of Cubo-futurism and Luisma, many "Spaniards". And of course, a retrospective of Natalia Goncharova can not be imagined without costumes and scenery for Diaghilev's "Russian seasons". Presented, in particular, the sketches for "the Golden Cockerel" and "the Wedding", as well as costumes based on sketches of the artist. The exhibition will run until September 8.
