national Museum of fine arts named after A. S. Pushkin presents an exhibition of French advertising of the late XIX — beginning of the XX century "Afilename". The exhibition displays 130 posters from the collection of the Museum who are familiar with the story of the birth and evolution of the poster as an art form, — works of famous artists and masters of graphic advertisements: Henri de Toulouse-Лотрека, Alphonse Mucha, Field Gavarnie, Leon Subrace, Jules Cheret, Adolf Byetta and other authors.

the Poster carries the reflection of different art directions, illustrating the inherent characteristics and style of each. Posters from the collection of the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin is possible to trace the art history of an era in France — Belle Époque. Besides, the photo is of the XIX century — is documentary evidence of his time. Responding to the major events of the century, the poster reflected the nature of different political parties, served as a mouthpiece of socialist ideas and anarchists played a huge role in the fate and career of individual politicians and government officials, demonstrated the achievements of science and technology. It expanded the space of the cultural environment, turning the streets of European cities to the exhibition halls. Performing its primary function — commercial advertising of goods and services, — poster was a field for experimental search for new forms in art, the conduit of advanced ideas had a profound influence on the development and spread of ar-нуво and ar-деко and largely determined the aesthetics of the era.
