the Exhibition prepared for the sixtieth anniversary of the birth of Timur Petrovich Novikov — is a tribute to the outstanding artist and cultural figure. The leader of his generation, he became part of the global artistic process, his works have been exhibited in leading international museums.

Timur Novikov was one of the originators of the two directions in art. In 1982, he founded the group "New artists", the successors of the avant-garde traditions. Later created a new movement — neoakademizm. Founded in 1990, New Academy of fine arts proclaimed as its goal the revival of the classical tradition. The last ten years of his life Timur Novikov devoted to the neo-academism. He invented the theory of two parallel existing histories of art, their uncompromising struggle. The square of Malevich in neoakademicheskogo the works of Novikov also serves as a denial of the classics and its base.

In the early 1990-х years, Timur Novikov gave to the Russian Museum fifty-seven works by New artists from his collection. In 1998, the Museum held a large retrospective exhibition of Timur, and in 2008 opened a memorial exhibition dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the artist.

the exhibition in the marble Palace presents seven of the author's works of various years from the collection of the Russian Museum. Among them are works dedicated to St. Petersburg: "Airport", "Bridge", "Petersburg summer" — as well as the homage to Andy Warhol and neoakademicheskogo works: "Apollo, trampling the red square" and "David, trampling the red square" and the painting "Portrait of Timur Novikov", created by his friends artists Evgeny Kozlov, Kirill Khazanovich and Denis Yegelsky.

the exhibition, dedicated to the memory of untimely deceased artist and musician Andrey Krisanov, presents works from the collection of the Russian Museum, the contemporary art Center named after Sergey Kuryokhin.

Andrey Krysanov was a member of the group "New artists", party rock-группы "Movie" and the orchestra "Pop-механика" Sergei Kuryokhin.

Under the influence of the avant-garde has a special recognizable style of the artist. He places his characters — "kwadratowych men" on a bright decorative background. "Muhomorchikom" (RM) connected expressionistic trends and graffitism typical of the painter. "Flowers" demonstrate a passion Krisanova Matisse and the Russian avant-garde. "Teplotsentr timing", the picture painted in the last period of creativity, a graphic element is fundamental.

In the late 1980-х picture Krisanova was shown in American museums, and then held a personal exhibition in Switzerland. His works have been shown at exhibitions in the Russian Museum.
