Paintings of great Russian artists of the XIX–XX centuries and pictures of Mikhail Baryshnikov at the exhibitions in the New Arena

Exposition "Russian art: finds and discoveries" will present the works of great Russian artists, created in the XIX–XX centuries, including works by Ilya Repin, Konstantin Korovin, Abram Arkhipov, Boris Anisfeld, Natalia Goncharova, Robert Falk. The second exhibition — "Mikhail Baryshnikov, from the cycle "Dance"" — will be the premiere screening in Russia of twenty photographs of prominent dancer of our time, Mikhail Baryshnikov.
Exhibition "Russian art: finds and discoveries" devoted to works of domestic painting. The exhibition will include more than seventy works of Museum level. Some of them have not only artistic but also historical value. Canvas pet Pavel Tretyakov, Russian painter Abram Arkhipov "Summer evening. Fishing boats in village harbour" was bought by the famous Norwegian diplomat and art collector Alfred Danielsen, who worked in Moscow с1929 to 1935. Rare in the work of Alexei Savrasov landscape with figural scene also has a Scandinavian origin. In the pre-revolutionary decade, the painting was acquired hereditary Norwegian manufacturers, engaged in successful business in Russia up until the events of 1917 forced them to return to their historic homeland along with a collection of Russian art. Dubovsky and P. Vereshchagin, works of A. Tischler, A. Exter, M. Vasilyeva and R. Falk. A separate section of the exhibition is dedicated to artists-шестидесятникам. It will include the work of Mikhail Chemiakin, Oscar Rabin, Oleg Tselkov, Vladimir Nemukhin, created in the Soviet period.
Exhibit "Mikhail Baryshnikov, from the cycle "Dance"" devoted to photography and the art of dance. Outstanding dancer of our time Mikhail Baryshnikov, picking up the camera, did not refuse from the main story of his life: the heroes of his photo compositions were dancers, not just ballet dancers, but all enthusiastically dancing people. Proprietary method Baryshnikov — long exposure — allows to underline light effects and rhythm of movement, to convey the unique energy of each dance.
Exhibition — premiere in Moscow on 18 photographs by Mikhail Baryshnikov, complemented by 24 shots Elzy Bing from the collection of dancer. A native of Frankfurt and a failed physicist, Elsa in 1930 he moved to Paris, where he was waiting for her dizzying career of a professional photographer. Starting at the leading Parisian Newspapers and magazines L'illustration, Le Monde illustré Paris Vogue, Adam Marchal, American Harper's Bazaar. Elsa Bing soon became famous. In the late 1920-х — the early 1930-х years she was almost the only professional working with the narrow camera. Her avant-garde images brought the artist the title of "Queen of the Leica". Work Elsa has participated in exhibitions along with works by man ray, andré Kertész and Henri Cartier-Брессона, and in 1931, took her first solo exhibition. At the beginning of the Second world war, Elsa Bing emigrated to the United States. In 1978, joining New York City Ballet, I received a gift of pictures of her ballet George Balanchine's "Errante" (1933) — twenty-five pictures taken in diffused light during the premiere in Paris, which has consolidated its reputation as a leading master of contemporary photography. These outstanding works and to this day continue to influence my work".
