The Museum of Russian impressionism will soon open a retrospective of the impressionist first half of the XX century Mikhail F. Shemyakin. The exhibition will include works from the Tretyakov gallery, Russian Museum and other collections. Some things will show for the first time

Mikhail F. Shemyakin (1875-1944) — realist, impressionist and member creative "the Association of traveling art exhibitions", "Union of Russian artists", "Society of Moscow artists".

the Future painter and graphic artist was born in a merchant family. His grandfather was industrialist Alexei Abrikosov, the founder of the confectionery company "Factory-торговое the partnership of A. I. Abrikosov sons" (now-concern "Babaevsky"). Art education Shemyakin received in the first Moscow gymnasium, then entered the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture. Among his teachers were V. D. Polenov, V. A. Serov, K. A. Korovin. From 1899 to 1901 Mikhail Feodorovich Shemyakin studied in Germany, in the famous Munich school Aschbe. A few years after his return to Moscow he became involved in exhibitions of the Wanderers, and later entered into the Partnership. In 1905 the portrait of the singer N. V. the Salina won first prize at the competition of Moscow society of art lovers. In 1913 he founded the art Studio in Moscow.

After the revolution, Mikhail F. Shemyakin taught at the VKhUTEMAS-ВХУТЕИНе (1918-1929). In 1928 he exhibited his paintings at the exhibition of the youth AHRR. Later he taught at the Moscow higher engineering-строительном Institute, Moscow Institute of transport engineers and Military-инженерной Academy. From 1934 — at the Moscow polygraphic Institute and the Moscow state art Institute. In 1938 MSH in the halls at the Kuznetsk bridge held his first solo exhibition Shemyakin, dedicated to the 35-летию creative and 25-летию teaching. During the great Patriotic war Mikhail Shemyakin was evacuated to Uzbekistan, where he headed the Department of drawing at the Moscow architectural Institute. In 1943 he returned to Moscow and resumed teaching at the Moscow state art Institute. He died in Moscow in 1944.

A totally different artist" brought from the Nizhny Tagil Museum of fine arts, art museums of Astrakhan, Penza, Tula, Ryazan and others. The exhibition will be published an illustrated catalog with previously unpublished archival materials.
