For the first time in Moscow will feature masterworks from unique collections of the State Museum of arts of Karakalpakstan named after I. V. Savitsky

the Exhibition will be situated in 16-м hall of the Main building, on three floors of the Museum of personal collections. The exhibition will be presented about 200 works of painting and graphics of vanguard and post-vanguard period in Soviet art, and objects of archaeology and the national ornamental-прикладного art of Karakalpakstan.

the Viewer will first see the leaves from the Suprematist compositions of L. Popova, P. Sokolova, G. Echeistov, coloristic exquisite landscapes and still lifes by M. Sokolov, one of the monumental compositions of A. Volkov's "Caravan", the work of the representatives of the Volkov brigade — N. Karakhan, U. tansykbayev — who sought to create a special artistic language to convey pathos constructive change in Central Asia and significant works of Russian avant-garde artists I. Kudryashov, A. Rybnikov; representatives of the Moscow school of painting — A. Kuprin, K. Istomin, A. Osmerkin, K. Christmas, R. Falk; artists, which manifested themselves in 1920-30-х years — B. golopolosov, E. Ermilova-Платовой, L. Regina, S. Nikritin, K. Redko; original artists who worked in Central Asia: N. Grigorieva, sisters Kalynych, E. Korovay, A. Nikolaev (Usto Mumin), etc.

for the First time will leave Nukus for the exhibition in Moscow, the picture of V. Lysenko "Bull", which became a symbol of the Museum. The name of its author returned from oblivion thanks to I. V. Savitsky.

In the exposition you can see the decorative object 24-прикладного art — ceramic vessels and dishes of majolica tilesXIV–XV centuries, the elements of the decoration of yurts, clothing, and women's jewelry, — and 13 archaeological exhibits, including alabaster ossuary VII–VIII centuries from the settlement Current-кала and ceramic flask (musahara) II–III centuries, found in the ellikkalinsk district of Uzbekistan.

Historical note

the State art Museum carries the name of its founder — Igor Vitalyevich Savitsky, the honored worker of arts of Uzbekistan, people's artist of Karakalpakstan, winner of the State prize named after Berdakh, cavalier of the order "For great services".

Caught in the middle of the twentieth century in Karakalpakstan, at the invitation of the famous scientist, specialist in the Ethnography of the peoples of Central Asia Tatiana Alexandrovna Zhdanko, I. V. Savitsky worked in the Khorezm archaeological and-этнографической expedition in Karakalpakstan as a permanent artist. Here he remained to live and work until the end of his days.

after years of work by the artist in the expedition, Savitsky participated in trips to the villages of Karakalpakstan for collecting samples of folk-прикладного arts. This activity I. V. Savitsky is invaluable. As a result of his work was a unique collection of works of art created by the Karakalpak people, which laid the Foundation of the future Museum, which was opened in 1966.

in Addition to collecting objects of applied art Sawicki has devoted himself to the search of the doomed to the oblivion of paintings by Uzbek and Russian artists of 1920-30-х years.

Today, thanks to the selfless work of its founder, the State Museum of arts of Karakalpakstan named after I. V. Savitsky has been a Museum of world importance. In the modern Museum's collection is about 100 000 different exhibits. Among them are paintings by artists of Uzbekistan and Russia, the folk-прикладного art of Karakalpakstan, the art of ancient Khorezm.

Since the early 1990-х years about the phenomenon of "Museum in the desert" talking around the world. Over the past 25 years the Museum has become a place of pilgrimage for visitors from Europe, CIS, USA, Australia, etc. Exhibition of the best works from the Museum's collection of the Nukus took place in Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Holland, USA, Australia, Spain and other countries.

According to the decree of the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 2004, a unique Museum was given the status of a "Museum beyond category".
