Miturich (1887-1956) - an indisputable classic of Russian art. A brilliant draftsman, student and friend of V. Khlebnikov, he successfully combined his work in the wealth of tradition and innovation. Graphic heritage AP Miturich diverse, and the Tretyakov Gallery is proud of its rich collection of his drawings and lithographs, which reflect all aspects of the master. The exhibition features 60 works.
graduate of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, member of exhibition "World of Art", the young artist was surprisingly insensitive to the existing techniques and stylistic clichés in the art of those years and is focused on finding their own plastic language. From 1916 to 1922 P. Miturich was in military service, but people came in fits and starts in Petrograd, yet he was able to take part in the artistic life. Together with the young artists - N. Tyrsa , Lev L. A. Bruni , Lebedev , N. VF Lapshin - he defended new positions in the visual arts.
very important role in the biography of P. Miturich played acquaintance and close friendship with the poet Velimir Khlebnikov (1885-1922). The artist drew a lot of poems on the themes of each other, trying to find a visual interpretation of poetry (the "Arrangement on" The Law of Time "Khlebnikov." 1918-1922. Paper, paper labels, watercolor, ink). These drawings - examples of "pure graphics", built on the rhythms of black and white, dynamic, often twisted in a spiral or "blow up" the plane of the sheet of composition ("graphic motif." 1918-1922. Paper, ink, brush, pencil). Abstraction sheets late 1910s, the most "left" in the art of P. Miturich, entered the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery in 1929 after the dissolution of the Museum of Artistic Culture. The exhibition shows a rare item - "Space Art" (1919-1920. Cardboard, paper, wood, ink, dry brush). This volume construction paper, based on a combination of differently forms, - one of the few remaining years of the spatial objects.
P. Miturich interested in wave motion, as illustrated by a drawing of the aircraft ("aircraft. Sketches." 1918. Paper and pencil) on the development of which he enthusiastically worked for many years.
Nonobjective formal experimentation for P. Miturich ended with the death of Velimir Khlebnikov in 1922. Images created in the village Santalovo Novgorod province in the days of illness and death of the poet, are combined into "Santalovsky cycle" ("Velimir Khlebnikov, on his deathbed, June 28, 1922 (" First President of the globe ")." 1922. Paper, ink, pen, brush, pencil, white, "in the village of Banka Santalovo." 1922. Paper, ink, pen, brush, pencil). These sheets are created in the laconic language of realism, were donated to the Tretyakov Gallery in 1970 his son, P. M. P. Miturich , and the artist's widow, N. Miturich.
The period of the mid-1920s - the 1930s was for P. Miturich most harmonious. He was surrounded by family and associates, the teaching of VHUTEMAS provided relative prosperity. The drawings of this time are constructive, landscapes often contain a spatial perspective ("Boulevard." 1924. Paper, black pen, "Kutum. Astrakhan." 1926. Paper, black pen). The image of the triumphant beauty, femininity, which is important for the art of the first half of the XX century as a whole - was embodied in the portraits Miturich P. Vera Khlebnikov, who became his wife. Big picture, "Portrait of Faith-Miturich Khlebnikov, the Artist's Wife" (1924. Paper, ink pen) - a masterpiece, its significance is not inferior "Santalovskim" lists.

From the late 1930s to the drawings in ink increases the picturesque effect. Using a brush and undiluted ink, the artist builds up pictures, plastic and flexible in terms chiaroscuro rhythms. They are expressive in their decorative richness ("dry tree." 1938. Paper, ink, brush, "Apple." 1945. Paper, ink, brush).
in 1930-50 - s P. Miturich was "extruded" from the official artistic life, but escaped the extreme harassment by the authorities. Forced to lead a rather secluded life, he continued to work on simple subjects - landscapes, portraits of loved ones. A special group of his legacy is the work of the middle - second half of the 1940s. Creativity P. Miturich acquired new life, he often worked on large sheets of broad movements of arms, moving lines and strokes. Figures and objects were created from the intertwining lines of the vortex flow. These works, free, liberated, again challenged the energy ("Portrait of a literary NL Stepanov." 1946. Paper, ink, brush, "Portrait of a Man." 1951. Paper, ink, brush). Stylistically, they are ahead of their time in anticipation of the art has the following decades.
After more than 20 years since the last solo exhibition Miturich P. Tretyakov Gallery allows the viewer to see pictures of one of the best native artists of the last century.
