Today Tsereteli Gallery as part of the 9th International Month of Photography in Moscow "Biennale 2012" will open a retrospective of Alexander Slyusareva (1944-2010) - a landmark figure Russian unofficial art photography.
On the one hand, his images - is a pure formalism, a beautiful plane, the other in his works found a meditative, concept, philosophy and even the original "Monumental moment" ( A. Rappaport).

Slyusarev graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages. Teresa Morris, was certified translator from Italian.
He picked up a camera at age 14. Filmed in black and white squares camera Rolleiflex, after an exhibition at the Photofestival in Latvia became known representative of the "Moscow School of Photography," photographer "shadows, glare and reflections" (M. Sidlin), invented his own genre of "flat landscape" without linear and diagonal prospects and joined the group "Immediate Photography" (along with Boris A. Slyusarev shot and the people and landscapes and still lifes, and city streets - organic and inorganic - in color and b /b. Philologically educated Slyusarev tried to move all the "literature", a plot for the picture frame, recognizing the shape of a self-sustaining. "The problem is - he said - that the photograph in essence - it's symbolism. Pictures Slyusareva say about everyday life of his time (about puddles and couch), and "empty sign" conceptualism of the 1970s, and the extreme individualists new audiences, while remaining and the "thing in itself", and "photographic simulation ready-made, a complete installation" (T. Salzirn).
The exhibition in the framework of the "Biennale 2012" shows only black and white work Slyusareva - from 1966 to 1993 - all in the author's printing.
