In the Archaeological Museum in the Spanish city of Alicante opened an exhibition "The archaeological treasures of the Hermitage" timed to the Year of Spain in Russia and Russia in Spain.

All exhibits are signed and reflect not only the history of the formation of the Hermitage archaeological collections, but also the history of research of the museum's own archeological expeditions.

The first room is dedicated to "primitive" Archaeology of the Paleolithic Age to the Bronze Age to the wide area, including Siberia, Central Asia, the Caucasus and the European part of Russia. Among the exhibits in this section can be identified Paleolithic "Venus" from the settlement of Kostenko and findings of Maikop burial mound dating from the 4 th millennium BC. Oe.

second section shows the Hellenic-Scythian antiquities of Northern Black Sea coast from VII to II century BC. er. Here are the masterpieces of the State Hermitage Museum: the golden deer (VII century BC. Er.) Mound of Kostroma in the northern Caucasus, gold crest with the Scythians (V - IV century BC. Er.) Solokha from the mound in the Dnieper, the golden pot with the Scythians (IV century BC. er.) from the mound of Kul-Oba in the Crimea.

The third part of the exhibition gives an overview of archeology in Russia and includes Hun monuments of Central Asia first centuries. er., Penjikent frescoes and Sassanian silver middle of I millennium AD. er., Byzantine antiquities and monuments of the Crimea the Golden Horde. It also exhibited objects, telling about the ancient history: jewels, weapons, household items.

exhibition is complemented by photos and video: photography and film about the Hermitage, portraits of famous Russian archaeologists, photographs of archaeological excavations, monuments and landscapes of places of origin of submitted antiquity.
