In the Marble Palace Russian Museum opened an exhibition Michael Odnoralova . The exhibition presents some 70 works by the author, created in the 1960's - 2000's. These works represent the main stages of the creative ways the artist for the past three decades living and working in the U.S.. One of the most vivid and important representatives of the Moscow underground, a member of the famous "bulldozer exhibition", Odnoralov in 1980 was forced to leave the Soviet Union.

Already in the first still lifes created in the late 1960's, said Odnoralov of themselves as independent, original masters, creative pursuits which at that time tended to so-called unofficial art. Having experienced the impact Robert Falk , Marc Chagall and artists, the surrealists, Odnoralov developed an original principle of organization of the semantic and pictorial space of his still-lifes. Connection 'high' and 'low', a combination of samples of classical art and kitsch in these studies contributes to a sense of absurdity, alogism surrounding reality ("Moira", "Still Life with a Palace of Soviets", "Still Life with a young activist"). During his work in the U.S. in the works Odnoralova there is a new focal area, where nude figures and compare objects in the space of the painting is saturated with a complex semantic contents.

The exhibition runs until July 12, 2010.
