«Born in the USSR - Made in France» - Russian Artists in Paris

April 22 in Paris exhibition at 25 Russian artists - three generations of emigrants. ARTinvestment.RU and Liana Roginskaya represent some of its members

These words of Vladimir Nabokov accurately reflect the main idea of the exhibition "Born in the USSR — made in France" held in the French capital in the framework of the Year of Russia in France, with the support of Paris city hall.

the Exhibition opens April 22 and will run until 2 may 2010, in the public "showroom Blanc-Манто" (48, St. Vieille-дю-Тампль 75004 Paris).

the well-Known French art critic Jean-Клод Marcadet present here works twenty-five artists born in the USSR and emigrated to France at different times. Settling in Paris, they continued to create, and their talents nurtured French culture and French life.

the Participants in this exhibition were able to resist the pressure of Soviet ideology, they have inspired Western art and deep own creative pursuits and approaches. Soaking up the experience of previous generations of artists, they in turn, passed the baton, fertilized his contribution, and beyond, spurring a new level of multiculturalism and content.

to combine a diverse palette of bright and original artists, the exposition presents three historical layers. The first generation — is the artists born in 1920-40-х and came to France in 1970-1980, — nonconformists, forced to emigrate after the famous "bulldozer exhibition"; the second generation — those born in 1950-70-х and came to Paris after the Soviet collapse, and finally, "children of perestroika".

this Exhibition is unique in its kind. It brings together, in particular, Vladimir Kara (painting) Oscar Rabin (painting) Mikhail Roginsky (painting), Alexander Kremer-Хомасуридзе (photo), Igor Minaev (figure and movie), Mary Schmidt (painting), Gueorgui pinkhassov (photo), Katerina Zubchenko (painting) Valentin Samarin-Тиля (photo), George Cooper (figure), Masha Poynder (painting) and other interesting artists.

the Paris exhibition — meeting of the Russian author's opinion with the opinion of the French, European, American — world! — spawned as a result of a special "third eye" that opens us to the unknown until a new reality: "a Different view of — different world".

"Thinking about the presentation of this Paris exhibition, I decided that I would represent artists in alphabetical order. Therefore, it was necessary to begin with... Oleg Yakovlev, of course. However, in the cyber-стенах glorious forum of the website of AI have repeatedly and in sufficient detail mentioned about my friend-приятеле, and repeated to anything.

To help me came the Latin alphabet — exhibition-то French, so we start with Katerina Zubchenko (Catherine Zoubtchenko).

I met Kate in 1978, immediately after his arrival in Paris, and all fell under her charm: Katia Zubchenko for me — the embodiment of Chekhov's "in the person all should be beautiful: face and clothes, soul and thoughts". She is as beautiful as her paintings, — tall, handsome, bright, with a Regal bearing. It's smart, funny, reckless, flirtatious. The very talented — Lansky just saw this "tail of a comet called school of Paris" (thanks to Ranzher for a quote) in a flock of their students. She remained a full-fledged his employee until his death, maître — evidenced by the mosaic they created together for the University of Rennes (1973-1976).

Work Kathy speak for themselves. Many times I have seen people, who did not know her work, went straight to her picture, even if around hung the many other — perhaps, they drew the same thing like me, — inner harmony".
