Exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculptures by Alexander Deineki opens tonight at the State Tretyakov Gallery

Today, March 16, at 18.00 in the State Tretyakov gallery on the Crimean Shaft (hall №№ 60-61) will start opening day of the exhibition of paintings, graphics and sculptures by Alexander Deineki "Work, build and not whine!".

Alexander Deineka (1899-1969) — is one of the most exciting and significant artists in the history of Russian art of the twentieth century. Group leader OST (Society of easel), painter, artist-монументалист, designer, Illustrator, sculptor, athlete, winner of the Lenin prize, the author of... the Art of A. Deineki today sees the most honest and talented evidence of a bygone era. Lines of poetry poster "Work, build and not whine!" meets the positive attitude of the master, the courage and optimism of his art. The energy of the images of the artist infects, and artistic language, and today is perceived as innovative.

most Important in his work A. Deineka considered "great basic themes" and "expression language of a new art form." He greatly expanded the boundaries of painting, enriching it by means of art photographs and posters. His art has incorporated the experience of the avant-garde, faith in rebuilding peace and a sense of ownership of time. Key in the artist's motives — aviation, sports and work — formed the basis of large-format paintings in which the Soviet "youth and the heroic work and good rest." Heroes of his paintings — Donbass miners, textile workers, workers of Petrograd, the players, and with them "bolshegrudye red and blue planes, blimps silver, dark silhouettes of steam locomotives with long chains of loaded cars, fast boats, swaying on the shiny surface of marine bays." A full co-author of the era, A. Deineka decided the most important task facing the Soviet art 1920-30-х years — found the image of "collective rights".

Piercing tragedy and the emotional power of painting and graphics A. Deineki war years are unique to Russian art of XX century. Large-scale section of the exhibition presents the work of the celebrated masters of war — "Outskirts of Moscow. November 1941" (1941, TG), "defense of Sevastopol" (1942, RM), images of those years.

In the anniversary exhibition includes more than one hundred and forty works of A. Deineki from the collections of the State Tretyakov gallery, State Russian Museum, the Kursk art gallery named after AA Deineka, State Literary Museum, Perm state art gallery, State Historical Museum, the Central Museum of the Armed Forces and private collections.
