Today in the Tretyakov Gallery opened a personal exhibition of Michael Odnoralova, one of the most active participants in the non-conformist movement of 1960-80-ies

Today, February 4, at the Tretyakov Gallery (Corps of Engineers, Lavroushinsky lane, 12) opens a personal exhibition Michael Odnoralova (born 1944). one of the most active participants of non-conformist movement 1960-80-ies. This is the first demonstration of the artist's works in Russia after his emigration to the United States in 1980. In his works, M. Odnoralov, like many other representatives of the unofficial art, appealing to the Russian avant-garde modernism and the beginning of XX century, and also draws on Conceptualism and Pop Art.

The biographies M . Odnoralova, a member of the Union of Artists since 1968, there were official exhibition, and the struggle for artistic freedom in the apartment exhibitions and the first public exhibitions of unofficial art in the mid-1970. In the 1960 M. Odnoralov got into the circle of artists Dmitry Krasnopevtsev , Anatoly Zverev , Dmitry Plavinsky , Mikhail Roginsky . He was one of the organizers of numerous apartment exhibitions and the famous "Bulldozer" in Belyaevo in 1975. In the same year, together with Oscar Rabin launched a painter shows works by artists of the underground in the pavilion "Beekeeping" and in the House Culture VDNH.

M. Odnoralov began as a master of urban landscape and still life, and these genres identified all his future work. Just like in the early twentieth century, in 1960 still life became a field for artistic-plastic experiments. Subjects in the still-life artist is always alone, disconnected. Some are broken, distorted, each of them has its own "biography", read at "face" of the object.

In the second half of 1960's - early 1970's the artist developed the idea of "equivalent space "- co-existence in the picture at the same time several long-term plans. "Equivalent Space" M. Odnoralova - is a synthesis and a rethinking of several lines of modernism. Colored, geometrically precise plane, serving both the background for still life and a means of constructing the composition, refer to the metaphysical painting and cubist experiments.

in part exhibition includes over 60 paintings created by the artist since the early 1960's, from museums and private collections, as well as object "Coats Odnoralova" (NCCA), the only time shown at the exhibition in the House of Culture VDNH in 1975.
